I have a real passion for photographing weddings. Everything about the day is so much fun, with everyone happy and looking their best. My photos capture that special, joyful mood so the couple and their family can experience those magical wedding-day feelings every time they look at the images. My approach to weddings is to use a photojournalist style, but I recognize that they are often a rare opportunity to capture family groups that are not normally all together in one place, so, if the couple prefers, I organize those photos in a more formal way.
What you see in the galleries I've posted on this site is a sampling of some of my favorite photos from recent weddings. With my client's permission, I have posted the full photo sessions here. This will give you an idea of what a full day of photography would look like.
I want to be sure that your wedding photos best capture the spirit of the day you're planning. I like to meet with couples well before their wedding date and talk about their expectations for their wedding photography and what they want them to convey. I make sure to learn about who the most significant guests are, what the most important details of the day are, and the types of words/feelings they use to describe the day.
While not required, having an engagement photo session is a great way for us to get to know each other, both photographically and personally. It gives you a chance to get used to being photographed, and it gives me a chance to get to know your personality and how to best photograph you. The location is customized and personal to each couple.
To capture an entire wedding day, I prefer to arrive early to make sure to get candid photos of everyone getting ready before the ceremony. There are so many moments during your wedding day that are priceless. The more familiar you, your wedding party, and your guests are with me, the more natural and genuine your photos will be, so it's great for me to be there early before things get too hectic. Then, over the course of the rest of the day, I look to capture both the small details and the momentous moments that make up the whole wedding day experience, and that all fly by in such blur.
As solemn and special as a wedding day can be, I love all the silly moments too. To that end, I can provide a photo booth set up at no extra cost. This is a great way to capture many of the people in attendance in a relaxed and fun way. Examples from recent photo booths are here and here.
After your wedding day, I will edit down the images, typically within four weeks, and post them to a online gallery for you and anyone you want to send the link to to see. From that same site, you, your relatives and guests can order prints in a variety of sizes.
I have recently begun working with a graphic designer to design albums for next season, and I am eager to work with you to create a custom designed album that evokes the spirit of the day.
After your ceremony, after the party's over, after the honeymoon, it can be a little sad that it's all over and you only got to wear your wedding finery once! An "All Dress, No Guests" (also commonly known as "trash the dress") photo shoot is a great excuse to get all dressed up again! I like to think of it like a second wedding where you find a place (or places) where you would love to go together without all the stress and planning associated with the actual wedding day. In Zareena and Andres' session, we went to Canobie Lake and had a great time! Elaine and Gregor wanted to go all around Boston (MIT, Beacon Hill, Boston Common, etc.) and we got some great shots! This is an excuse to get dressed up and have fun without the restriction of accommodating all of your guests, and an opportunity for photos in location(s) that were too far from your wedding site, but really represent the personality of the couple. I really enjoy these sessions, and offer discounts for them if you sign up to do one when we finalize your wedding package.
Each couple has a unique style, a unique wedding day, and different needs. It's difficult to offer a price for my services without understanding your needs. So, after our consultation, I would submit a contract that would detail what I provide, and would let you know my charges then. If you have special needs/concerns I will work with you to get exactly what you want while keeping within your budget.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions.
